Connection and trust foster all sorts of good things around here. I'm not a vendor and you're not my client. We're friends. I get really invested in my couples because I really do care so so much and want to be more than just a photographer to you. I stress the importance of connection because if we don't connect, that disconnect will show up on camera. My main focus above all else is that my couples are having a good time. Most of my couples show up uneasy saying “Sorry, we’re awkward and hate getting our photo taken”, and by the end they’re going on about how easy and fun it was. Trust me, getting photos taken doesn’t have to suck or be awkward in any way, and I will make sure you have the best time.
I am a firm believer that it's your wedding day, its your engagement session, etc, do whatever the heck you want. If you want a wedding day with 300+ guests and all the bells and whistles, I am down, or if you want to hike down into a canyon and elope with just the two of you and a photographer, I will be there supporting you 1,000%. It breaks my heart when I hear couples saying “I wish we had a smaller wedding” or, “we wish we would have eloped” or, “we actually don’t even like cake” as they’re about to cut their wedding cake. Wanna get married at a music festival? Or maybe go backpacking through the desert for the weekend and exchange vows on the edge of a cliff? Wear a black wedding dress and a green suit? Jump in the ocean after your ceremony? Skip out on all the pressures of a wedding and elope with your best friends? Whatever it is that would make your day feel like your own, I’m a full-on supporter, and am here to help you every step of the way.
I want photography to be more than something on your checklist of things to do for your wedding. You don’t realize it now while you’re so focused on centerpieces, and who’s sitting where, and bridesmaid dresses, and florals— but photography is really the only thing that lasts past your wedding day. The number one thing I hear from couples who went cheap on photos for their wedding is how much they regret it. Photographs are something that will only increase in value over time as the images get passed down for generations. If you’re shopping around just trying to find the cheapest deal, trust me, I’m not that. And that’s okay, because you deserve to have a photographer that will fit all of your wants and needs— including your budget. I’m passionate about capturing couples who believe in the value of meaningful, authentic photographs that will last a lifetime.
I take on a limited amount of weddings per year, and I a limited amount of sessions per month. I do this because I’ve had years were I have shot 50+ weddings and felt as if i was drowning. I don’t feel it’s fair to my clients if I’m overbooking myself because, in the end, they won’t be getting my best work if I’m physically, mentally, and creatively exhausted. So for this reason and to keep my turnaround time quick, I limit my schedule to 30 weddings a year.
You probably haven’t been a bride or groom before so you’re figuring all of this stuff out as you go. Since I’ve been to hundreds of weddings, and had my own wedding, I have a lot of know-how when it comes to all of the details. I’m happy to help in any big or little ways that I can to make sure this is a stress-free experience for you! I will send you a guide with some of my favorite wedding day tips, and am always just an email away if you have any questions throughout the wedding process.
I want every client who books me to know that my goal is to give you so much more than pretty pictures. I am here to give every client an experience that sparks a little fire inside of their heart & soul. While I do some posing & directing during your session, I want to make sure we’re capturing the true essence of who you two are as a couple and those moments that unfold naturally between two people in love. This could mean fits of giggling, passionate kisses, seaside twirls or something totally different! Whether it’s your first time in front of a professional camera at your engagement session, throughout the various photo ops of your wedding day or an anniversary session you booked to capture the current season of your love, I only expect one thing from you: an open heart.
I REALLY want my couples to have the best experience with their wedding photos. For this reason, I take a limited number of weddings each year. I want to be able to fully invest in you and create the most beautiful images possible, and I don't feel like I can do this when taking multiple weddings a weekend. I recommend you reach out as soon as you're interested in booking, to insure your date isn't taken before you're able to book. If I am unavailable, I am happy to send you recommendations of other photographers that I would fully trust to photograph your day.
